Garage Door Screens
A full-width screen across the garage opening, so the door can stay up all summer and the garage works as a workshop or a sitting space without filling with insects. Retracts into a box above the opening when the door comes down.
A retractable screen lets you leave the garage, patio or porch open through the summer without the insects, and rolls away out of sight when the season ends. The mesh runs in side tracks rather than hanging loose, so wind does not pull it out of the opening.
What the mesh is made of matters more than most people expect. It decides whether you are keeping out mosquitoes, cutting the afternoon sun, buying privacy from the street, or blacking the opening out entirely. We carry screens from all three of the manufacturers behind our shutters, measure the opening and fit and service them ourselves.
We measure the opening ourselves, fit the screen with our own crew and handle the service calls afterwards. Because we also supply the garage door in the same opening, the screen and the door are set up to live with each other rather than fight for the same headroom.
Tell us the opening, how you use the space, and which direction it faces. A north-facing porch that needs bug protection and a west-facing patio that bakes from four o'clock onward are different problems with different fabrics.
Get a QuoteFour ways to screen an opening. Which one suits comes down to the size of the opening,<br> how often it is used and what the mesh has to do.

Motorized screens tracking in side rails, covering openings up to about 20 ft wide and 17 ft high. The zip track is what keeps the fabric taut and in the rails when the wind gets up: the difference between a screen that lasts and one that billows out.
Shade and privacy on a covered patio or veranda at the press of a button, from Pentagon's TranquilGuard line. Closer to an outdoor blind than an insect screen, and the right answer when sun and overlooking are the problem rather than mosquitoes.
Around 50 per cent openness for insects and airflow, 40 per cent in a no-see-um weave for the smallest biting insects, 25 down to 1 per cent for solar control and privacy, and a blackout fabric where the opening has to go properly dark.
A screen that sags, billows or jams gets left retracted and never used again.
Tracked fabric, a measured opening and a crew who come back are what prevent that.
Zip and cable systems hold the fabric inside the side rails under tension, so wind pushes against the screen rather than pulling it out of the opening.
Openness from 50 per cent down to 1 per cent, plus no-see-um and blackout weaves. We bring samples to the measure, because openness is very hard to picture from a number.
Motors, remotes and timers on the larger openings, manual on the small ones. The rule of thumb: if it is awkward to operate, it stops getting operated.
Screens run to roughly 20 ft wide and 17 ft high, and the box size steps up with the size of the opening. That headroom has to be found before anything is ordered.
We supply the garage door in the same opening, so the screen and the door are specified together instead of competing for the same space above the header.
No subcontractors. The people who fit it work for Rivett, and handle the repairs, refabrics and adjustments afterwards.
From the site measure to the refabric years later, our own technicians cover the whole life of the screen.
Free on-site measure, with fabric samples brought to the opening.
Fitted, wired and commissioned by Rivett technicians.
Torn or aged mesh replaced, tracks, motors and remotes repaired.
Tracks cleaned and fabric checked before the season, so it runs when you want it.
